The Blockheads Collective is a group of actors, writers, and directors who aren’t afraid to fail. Since our inception in February 2015, we have made it our mission to offer a safe platform for theater artists to create work that challenges contemporary power structures and engages the surrounding community. Our company members comprise a diverse array of nationalities, ethnicities, and backgrounds, giving us a uniquely colorful perspective on the issues of our day. We are fiscally sponsored through Fractured Atlas, a 501c3 nonprofit that allows us to accept tax-deductible donations, and we are a resident company of The Tank Theater in Times Square.
We are unapologetically not perfect – we’re Blockheads.
The Blockheads are STOMP Out Bullying Partners Who Change the World. During the run of Dog Sees God in February 2015, the cast of DSG raised over $500 to benefit this organization; raising awareness in our community of in-school bullying. It is our mission to create a safe platform to work, and it is also our mission to encourage and uplift youth in our generation and the next to come. We are proud to be Blockheads, but we are honored to be partners of STOMP Out Bullying.
Statement of Support from The Tank Theatre, NYC
"The Blockheads Collective are a marvelous company that we are so thrilled to be working with. Their shows represent voices that we don't see often enough on stage and are absolutely gorgeous. They are innovative theater-makers who are constantly making magic happen before your eyes in service of deeply human stories. They are a young company to watch and we can't wait to see what they're going to do next" (Rosalind Grush, Artistic Director)
